Zachary T Bloomgarden, MD, is a Clinical Professor in the Division of Endocrinology, Department of Medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He has a national reputation for writing and lecturing on diabetes and has published several hundred reviews pertaining to insulin resistance syndrome and the treatment of type 2 diabetes, which have appeared in numerous professional publications. Dr Bloomgarden’s Perspectives on the News series is a widely read and respected analysis of the latest research and developments in the treatment and management of diabetes.
