Ilpo Huhtaniemi

Ilpo Huhtaniemi, MD, PhD, is Emeritus Professor of Reproductive Endocrinology at Imperial College London, and Professor of Physiology at University of Turku, Finland. His research interests include clinical and basic reproductive endocrinology, in particular the function of gonadotrophins and male reproduction, as well as male contraception, hormone-dependent cancer, and the endocrinology of ageing. He has authored over 650 peer-reviewed research articles and reviews. He is a fellow of The Academy of Medical Sciences (UK) and a Doctor Honoris Causa at the Medical University Lodz, Poland, and University of Szeged, Hungary. He has held several positions of trust in international scientific organizations, e.g. Past President of International Society of Andrology and Member of the Executive Committee of European Society of Endocrinology.
