Vera Popovic-Brkic
Vera Popovic-Brkic is Professor of Internal Medicine at Belgrade University School of Medicine and Head of Department of Neuroendocrinology, Endocrinology Clinic at the University Clinical Center, Belgrade, Serbia. Since 1985 she has been the principal investigator (PI) for a research grant funded by the Ministry of Science Serbia. Her research studies include investigations in the field of new molecules in the regulation of growth hormone (GH) secretion (GHRP6, ghrelin), longacting GH molecules for GH replacement and new molecules in energy homeostasis (leptin and ghrelin). Her special clinical interests are hypopituitarism and management of pituitary adenomas. Dr Popovic-Brkic is a reviewer for the European Research Council (ERC) for Advanced Projects. She lectures as a symposia speaker at numerous national and international meetings, post-graduate courses and, in particular, in numerous European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) Postgraduate Courses in Clinical Endocrinology. Dr Popovic is a reviewer for Clinical Endocrinology, the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, Metabolism and Hormone Metabolic Research, among other journals. She serves as Associate Editor for Hormones and is a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, Metabolism, Endocrine, Expert Review of Endocrinology & Metabolism and Growth Hormone & IGF Research.
