Here at Touch Medical Media we are supporting World Menopause Day (18th October 2022), an important initiative from the International Menopause Society to raise awareness of the menopause and improve health and wellbeing.

We were delighted to speak with Mr Nicholas Panay (Imperial College, Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea & Westminster Hospitals, London, UK), who talks about the importance of proactively speaking about symptoms, both cognitive and muscular skeletal, along with low energy and low libido, with women experiencing menopause. The theme of World Menopause Day 2022 is bone health and Mr Panay shares his thoughts on lifestyle, weight-bearing exercise and diet, and the importance of assessing osteoporosis risk.

Questions:
1. The symposium you chaired earlier this year focused on the vasomotor symptoms of menopause, but what other symptoms do people experiencing menopause find challenging? (0:38)
2. What treatments are available now, or are emerging, to help manage the symptoms of menopause? (3:06)
3. The theme of World Menopause Day this year is bone health, what do you recommend to maintain bone health in your patients? (6:11)

Disclosures: Mr Panay has received honoraria and/or consultation fees from Abbott, Bayer, Besins, Kora, Mithra, Mylan, Novo Nordisk, Pfizer, Roche, Serelys, SeCur and Shionogi, and participated in a company sponsored speaker’s bureau with Abbott, Bayer, Besins, Gedeon Richter, Glenmark, Kora, Mylan, Novo Nordisk, Pfizer and Shionogi and Theramex.
Support : The production of this video was supported by Touch Medical Media.
