Virginia Valentine

Virginia Valentine, CNS, BC-ADM, CDE, is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and co-owner of Diabetes Network, Inc., an American Diabetes Association-recognized program, and a Clinical Nurse with more than 25 years experience in the management of diabetes. She also holds faculty appointments with both the University of New Mexico College of Nursing and School of Medicine. In 1999, Ms Valentine was awarded the Roche/Zitter Diabetes Disease Management Award, and is a past recipient of the Outstanding Diabetes Educator of the Year Award from the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) and the 2006 recipient of the AADE Distinguished Service Award. Her published works include professional publications and books for patients, including Diabetes, Type 2 and What to Do. She is a member of the Advanced Practice Advisory Board to the New Mexico Board of Nursing and serves as President of the New Mexico Leadership Council of the American Diabetes Association. Ms Valentine received her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing.
